Learning Outcome 3

I agree with Gilroy’s article about annotations and always helped me. When I read sources in class I always try to understand the meaning behind it and why the author wrote it. But when I  annotation it always helps me to understand the sources better and faster and to pick up good quotes. For example, when I read “ Life Stories” by Back at first i did not understand the idea and i was wondering what she is saying, but when i annotation her essay the first time i start to understand the narrative. When i annotation second time it helped me better to get her ideas more clearly, and get how stories may shape people’s lives. I additionally underline words that I am not aware of, which will assist me go lower back and seem to have a higher understanding. I also reword some the text I find that helpful to make it easy for me to understand it. When i’m doing annotation and read something i agree with i use sign to show that i agree with later. I also write questions to myself about the essay i’m reading because when I answer them its going to help me understand better. In the article Julia Beck wrote, I broke down the text with many notes and important key points. In one shade I highlighted key factors and in another, I highlighted important opinions and vocabulary words that I didn’t know. These methods helped my perception of challenging articles and ways to smash them down. Annotation was one of the best thing i learned in ENG 110 and it’s going to help with all my classes, also it is going to be my weapon to understand reading.
