  1. What role do you see language playing in your life?

Language plays a good role in my life. Language is something big in our life because if you don’t choose the right language we don’t make siens. I always make sure to use my language in the right position.

  1. Work hard to articulate your relationship with language–the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Language was always good thing that i learned because it helped me alot with everything helped me to translate to my family and my school. The ugly thing about language is that when you don’t know how to use language in the right place.

  1. How important has language been to you in the past?

Language was very important in my past, because i am a second language and I had to learn how to speak to people or how to write.

  1.  How important is it now?

Language is very important to me and more than before becasuse iam in college and I really need to be good with language to pass all my classes. And english 110 have taught me how language plays a big role in our life.

  1. What role do you see language playing in your future?

The role that language plays in our future is that language is going to build who we are, and language is going to build connection with everything in our life. And i think language is going to help use to collect data from all around the world. Think about it if there was no language its not going to be right because you can’t communicate with people you can’t learn anything.

In United State, gun violence is at a lot decline but still is something that people still have a very good chance of encountering in their lives. it is very important for the people who care to understand why they happen and to find a way to prevent mass shootings so we can have safe lives. The essay “Why They Kill” by Jeffery Kluger gives a deep analysis into the minds of the people behind the shootings. This source is good because it uses statistics to support the claims that it makes. Kluger draws from real life situations and examples to give a better look towards what the people behind killings think and plan before doing those acts. with Kluger Information we should be able to stop these attacks from happening. The first step that we may want to take to take to forestall attacks would be to teach people on intellectual fitness and assist therapy in communities. We should also educate people on all of the signs that someone may commit one of these shootings.

Chapter 7 From They Say I Say

A lot of instances writers put sure information in their papers except explaining afterwards why the reader should care or why it is important. Most of the time the reader might also be an outsider of the issue you are talking about, which is why you want to give an explanation to them why it is important. The “who cares” asks you to discover a character or a crew while the “so what” asks about the real-world purposes and penalties of the claims. To answer the “who cares” it helps to name specific people or organizations who have a stake in your claims and to go into some detail about their views. Although you may answer the “who cares” questions it is additionally vital to reply the “so what” question as well. When expanding on the “so what” it is vital to make it sound eager and convince the reader that this is important, and hook them into the discussion. Even if you are writing to a target audience that is familiar with the subject, it is still important to use the “who cares” and “so what” questions.

When i read chapter 7 from “ They Say I Say” book i have to explain the quotes that i put in my essay for the reader to better understand and have a better idea of what im talking about.  Its very important for me to give a more detailed explanation on my paper, so the reader would enjoy my writing and also show how i care about what im writing about.

In this essay, there’s a lot of changes that need to be worked on.  All of the changes are minor. I think you should add more quotes from the essays that the class read.  When you add the quotes you should have more detailed explanation. I think you thesis is needs to be worked on because it doesn’t have enough explanation for the reader.  I loved how you stated your essay and really enjoyed reading it but to make it more interesting and even more enjoyable for the reader, you should add some stronger information and maybe a few more quotes to grab the reader’s eye.   I think there is a lot of appealing information in this essay but could use a little cleanup on some of the paragraphs. There are a few changes I would consider doing to attract more readers. One thing you should be aware of is if you are preparing an essay for the class there should be more explained vital information so everyone would love the essay more!   Overall you did a great job.

In our society, gun violence is at a decline but still is something that people still have a chance of encountering in their lives. It is important for us to understand why they happen and the ways to prevent mass shootings so we can have safer lives. With this information we should be able to prevent these attacks from happening. The first step that we could take to take to prevent attacks would be to educate people on mental health and support therapy in communities. We should also educate people on all of the signs that someone may commit one of these shootings.

The first step to being able to stop gun violence would be to figure out the people who are behind the shooting. Jeffery Kluger’s analysis does a good job explaining the reasoning behind shootings and how to tell if they happen. He mentions that there are a lot of factors that can cause somebody to commit a large scale shooting like the one he was talking about. The factors that he talks about are psychosis, substance abuse, depression, and childhood trauma. Most of these factors are things that can be helped if people understood them.

The first factor is psychosis. Psychosis is when a person may feel disconnected from reality. This could be accompanied by hallucinations of voices, images, or even sensations. Psychosis may be a very serious condition but there are ways to treat it so that people with it can still be a part of our society. Drugs like Clozapine and Ziprasidone are used to help get rid of the hallucinations that psychosis patients suffer. Lorazepam and promethazine hydrochloride, however are used to help keep patients calm and not at risk to people’s safety. Making these drugs more known and public would help people who suffer from psychosis, or people who may not even know that they have it, learn more about the symptoms and the ways that it can be treated.

Another factor that can be treated is substance abuse. Substance abuse is when someone uses a drug or alcohol to an unhealthy amount. The impact that these can have on your mental health is disastrous. While this is a large problem even in our society today there are still ways to get help. In every city there is a support group that anyone can join to be supported by people who went through the same thing that they have. This feeling that people are not alone will help lower the gun violence by getting people to make connections with others and to begin to create empathy.

Attempting to combine art with mathematics and science is an unnecessary and futile thought. These two subject issues live on two totally different planes and may not be together. This root system has gone for many years and it has been successful. Schools will still offer better quality education and educate creative minds without integrating the STEAM education system. Famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma would differ. He tells “that beliefs behind arts integration–collaboration, flexible thought, and disciplined imagination–lead to this ability to innovate.” Scientists have been making new innovations and designs for ages without the blending of art and science in education. The most significant part of recent technological discoveries is being able to use prior knowledge of mathematics and science to what you are trying to accomplish. For instance, environmentalists have learnt about this climate and go up with ways to protect our time for the long-term.

TREAC Paragraph:

Art is very important and might impact many elements of education. it is able to make someone use creativity to resolve a hassle. you can marvel how, however art is a creative device we use that we are able to extend our thoughts on. Lehrer concurs with this, and thinks that arthasa excellent effect on science. He argues that “technology wishes the humanities. We need to locate a place for the art in the experimental process” (Lehrer). He sees the want for art, because of the enhancement it makes to science.

Barclay Paragraph:

Some might also trust that some human beings can be artists or scientists. Both fields are seen as polar opposites, however the most effective questioningand ideas happen with a combination of the both. Johan Lehrer is an authorwho studied neuroscience, but now works at combining science and the humanities. In his essay, “The Future of Science… Is Art?” he discusses the connection that each artwork and science have in relation to thinking. He does not bargain the weight that information and records have and makes it clear that “the sciences should apprehend that their truths are not the solely truths.” The necessity for a stability of arts and science was once reciprocated by way of cellist and songwriter, Yo-Yo Ma in his essay, “Necessary Edges.” He states that science is on one part of thinking, whilst artwork is on the contraryedges, however “only when science and the arts, necessary and empathetic reasoning, are linked to the mainstream will we discover a sustainable balancein society.” Neither arts nor sciences are the most necessary in this world. Statistics and experiments don’t disclose all truths; however, paintings and flute solos do no longer furnish the solutions to the questions and troubles in the world either. Instead, a balance, or equilibrium of each are critical in order to make trade in the world. If we don’t choose the following day to be simplylike yesterday, and we prefer to strengthen in opinions and ways of life, logical and emotional thinking but be put together. A combine between bothwill lead to a better, extra well-rounded future.

I feel I’m starting to get better at annotations and and I’m progressing well.  There are a few areas I might need touchup but otherwise find my work to be good.

It was first published on the WorldPost, an online blog site, during the month of January in 2014, by Yo-Yo Ma, a cellist and songwriter.

We as people should be taught more about art and music in our schooling because it can give us much more knowledge towards the skills we need for the real world as we get older. These ideas should be talked more about so that the new generation growing up can have the best schooling possible.  Art and music, we use in everyday life and are very important.  I don’t agree with art budgets being cut from schools.  It is very good to have art and is very therapeutic for kids to stay out of trouble.

Through my understanding of reading this essay art and music are vital classes in school to better further the education of children.  This school budget cuts should not happen, and I hope one day that they will fully revamp the funds while adding more art and music curriculums. This would defiantly help the younger generation in so many ways!
